Marc Denis, host of Fame Game, the CBC series which sets out to discover Canada's musical
groups with the most potential for a career in the field. Marc is host of the Montreal segments
of the national search in the fall of 1984. A precursor television format to the Idol franchises
still decades away, Fame Game Montreal has a panel of three judges: Radio deejay Doug Price
(CHOM radio), Tommy Schnurmacher (Gazette Entertainment columnist) and the promotions
executive at DKD Productions and Aquarius Records, Keith Brown. Executive producer and
director for the Montreal Fame Game shows is Malcolm Charlton.

When it is all said and done, the Montreal Fame Game series produces two winning bands which
later compete with the winners from other markets across Canada in semi-finals leading to finals
to win cash and a recording contract. The groups are "Welcome" and "Musical Digital Print".

Although these two bands do not win the nationals, the Montreal instalments of Fame Game
help launch several successful careers in Québec and other parts of the world for talents seen
on the series including Musical Digital Print's lead singer, Marie-Denise Pelletier, along with
Maude Grenier of the band Spa Romance and Kat Dyson of the group Tchukon, among others.
