George Balcan * retires in 1998 as CJAD Montreal’s morning man for the better part of 35 years.
During that 1963 to 1998 span, George crosses the street only briefly to competitor CFCF 600 Montreal in the mid-70s for a two-year stint on the breakfast show there. He also hosts CFCF 12’s game show “It’s Your Move” and the afternoon movie show “Matinée” during that period before returning to CJAD for good. George’s emotional farewell show on CJAD takes place on Friday April 17, 1998 at Montreal’s Chalet de la Montagne with hundreds of fans, friends and dignitaries in attendance.
